An engineering graduate from the University of British Columbia, Mr. Wyder has over 22 years of experience providing management, design, and field services on projects related to maritime, heavy civil and industrial applications. He is currently registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of B.C. and his design and construction experience includes steel, concrete, and timber structures for both local and international projects.
While a majority of his experience involves port and marine infrastructure, he has also been involved in the management and design of significant inland structures and bridges. Of note is his substantial specialized experience in the design and construction of floating structures. Mr. Wyder has had considerable involvement in the planning, design, and construction of coastal and inland ferry and RoRo terminal facilities, as well as management and design of major LNG terminals and Oil & Gas facilities from FEED level through to detailed design on contract values exceeding $200M.
Mr. Wyder started his design career in Vancouver with Dominion Construction in the early ‘90s and moved to Westmar Consultants in North Vancouver in 1996 to become more involved in the marine design and construction industry. Although the company has changed names several times over the years (currently Advisian) John has continued to work with many of the core group of people originally from Westmar for the past 22 years.
